Author Bio
After graduating from high school, Dana Fisher set off on a road trip with a friend to have fun in Mexico and didn’t turn around until he reached the state of Nayarit, south of Mazatlán. As a college student, he drove across America for the thrill of it and visited national parks along the way and in Canada. In the years following, he spent 46 months visiting 44 countries from Tasmania to Tanzania, Spain to Samoa. The entire way, his travel guidebook was his second Bible, and he learned what travelers want and need to know to make the most of their precious time.
Dana has worked as a staff photographer for newspapers including San Diego Union-Tribune,and has contributed to The Christian Science Monitor, Surfer Magazine, Windsurf Magazine and Japanese and French magazines.
His photographs, Through the Eyes of Hope; The Youth of Africa, have been exhibited at the Museum of African American History and Art in New York City, at the Moonstone Gallery in Las Vegas, and at exhibits in Simi Valley, Ventura, Santa Monica and Moorpark, California.
He married Corby, the woman of his dreams, and after honeymooning in Morocco, they settled down in Santa Barbara, California, Dana’s hometown, to raise a family. They discovered Lou Grant Parent-Child Workshop, and requested the help of 140 parents – along with those in its sister program, Starr King Parent-Child Workshop in providing input for the creation of this book.
